What's the big deal about aprons? Like any favorite article of clothing or accessory (think poodle skirts to bellbottoms to Hypercolor shirts to Keds - I could go on and on), aprons evoke good memories.
The gathering place in a house is always the kitchen, where many good memories are created. So why not create memories while looking like a Hot Chick?
As a relatively native Arizonan (moved here when I was 6 from Minnesota), I spent many childhood summers stuck in the house avoiding sunburns, bored to death and tired of swimming. Tired of hearing "Mo-om, I'm bo-ored" my mom decided to keep me busy (and out of her hair) through teaching me the art of sewing. The projects she gave me started with basic cross stitch of cheesy animal ornaments and have since evolved into a wicked hobby of sewing aprons.
I was inspired to create aprons when I stumbled upon, and fell in love with, this vintage ruffled apron pattern. I'm a nut for graphic prints, so I decided to fuse my love for prints with my love for sewing. It all began with creating aprons as gifts for friends and co-workers, and it has since evolved into Hot Chick Aprons.
I have created a variety of aprons from my favorite prints, however Hot Chick Aprons can also be custom-made! All I need is a color scheme and theme, and I will find the print for you. You can also select from a library of fabric that I have hand-picked.
